"One choice can transform you."

"One Choice.

One Choice, decided your friends.
One Choice, defines your beliefs.
One Choice, determines your loyalties - Forever.

One choice can transform you.”

I'm a bookworm. And I am very proud with that.
Books make you live a thousand lifes. I truly believe in that quote. Books are windows to the world, it can changes the way we think of things, even of ourselves. A book can  take you anywhere. This book is one of them.

Divergent - #1 book of Divergent trilogy by the author Veronica Roth. It sets over a futuristic world of Chicago, after a nuclear war that destroyed the world. Society divided into five different factions that each represent a different virtue.

Abnegation - the faction that values selflessness in the service of others.
Amity - the faction who values peace above all else.
Candor - the faction that values honesty.
Dauntless - the faction who tests their bravery by attempting death defying feats.
Erudite - the faction who live their lives in the pursuit of knowledge.

When you're 16, you have to make a choice that defines your entire life. You have to choose which faction you will give your loyalty. Or else, you'll be factionless. No home, no friends. No one to hold onto.
Beatrice Prior made a shocking choice. She left her peaceful home in Abnegation and join the brave in Dauntless. She left her parents and live with her new faction. New home, new name. Tris. But before they're fully accepted in their new home, they must pass this  Dauntless initiation - with extreme physical and intense psychological test. But deep inside, she has a secret. She's not what everyone thinks of her. She's different. And if they found out.. There's only one way through: death.

"We believe in ordinary acts of bravery, in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another." - Dauntless Manifesto

I'm in love with this book more and more as I turned the pages. And it shocked me that this novel is a debut from the author, Veronica Roth. Divergent has a complex story build around it - but she makes sure that everyone understand it by the most simple way. Well-said. And Four, I mean, this guy, I WANT HIM OMGASDFGHKL. Ooops sorry! I'm just a girl!

"Something about him makes me feel like I am about to fall.  Or turn to liquid.  Or burst into flames." - Tris

This is a typical book that you won't just pass, it has a very unique story. And the plot was just too.. Well, not too much but not so little, do you get it? And the romantic part is the best. Veronica didn't make Tris as a weak and cry-baby girl. Instead, she's brave, deadly smart, and there's no chance in earth you would doubt her confidence.

“Fear doesn't shut you down; it wakes you up." - Four.

"...it’s when you’re acting selflessly that you are at your bravest." - Four

Okay, I won't spoil the story any further. If you're interested, please go to bookstore and grab this book. Fast. Right now I'm having this urge to run to the nearest bookstore from my home and buy Insurgent - the second book - but I'm in this crisis money. Maybe I'll search the e-book after this. *But I like fresh books better. Those scent..*

Well, have a good day! :)

"I am not Abnegation.  I am not Dauntless.
I am Divergent."

Thanks for reading!
Irene.

Katniss Everdeen, The girl who was on fire.

Finallyyyy I made this post. Sorry because it's so. very. late. My internet is like asdgfjflsjdfufhg .. Everytime I want to use it suddenly it becomes so sensitive.. Nevermind now. Here it is! Tadadaaa!
"Sparks are igniting. Flames are spreading. And The Capitol wants revenge. "
“Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire, you have provided a spark that, left unattended, may grow to an inferno that destroys Panem,"

Catching Fire, the second book from The Hunger Games Saga. First thought before reading this book, I thought it woudn't be very surprising, because Katniss and Peeta have already finished their Hunger Games in book 1, and they won. And I started to think, "What's left then for them?" I keep thinking of random plots and stories, but I couldn't find one that suitable enough.

And as I keep reading and reading.. It's brilliant! Very thrilling, and surprising. Thumbs up for Suzanne Collins! The way how she plotted the whole stories, it was so amazing. And there are like, tons of surprises inside this book. The most shocking part of all, The Quarter Quell.
"When the laws from the Hunger Games were laid out, they dictated that every twenty-five years the anniversary would be marked by a Quarter Quell. It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion."
"On the seventy-fifth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that even the strongest among them cannot overcome the power of the Capitol, the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors."
When I realized katniss will be going back to the arena, I was like, "What? It can't -- No you can't do that SNOW! How could you do that.." And as the story goes on, it's unbelievably shocking. The Games, the characters, even things between Peeta and Katniss. You better grab this book and start to read it! Anyway, I found this poster when I was googling, and I looove it. Take a look!

Can't wait to watch the sequel, they said it would be released on November 22nd, 2013. I hope it will be as brilliant as the book :)

“The bird, the pin, the song, the berries, the watch, the cracker, the dress that burst into flames. I am the mockingjay. The one that survived despite the Capitol's plans. The symbol of the rebellion.”

Katniss was saved from the Games. The rebels saved her from the arena, along with the other few victors, but not all. The Capitol has Peeta. And they destroyed District 12. The other districts are fighting in a rebellion againts The Capitol. Now what will she do?
“Sometimes when I'm alone, I take the pearl from where it lives in my pocket and try to remember the boy with the bread, the strong arms that warded off nightmares on the train, the kisses in the arena.”

Finally the last book from the series, Mockingjay. I have to make a confession, this is my favorite book from all the series. It brings a whole different atmosphere from the first and second book. It's more dark, but always shocking, and a little bit terrifying, I think. It's like, it's bringing you right into the storyAnd the book was so adventurous, so intense. I couldn't stop reading it. When I knew about what they The Capitol has done to Peeta.. I was so sad and mad at the same time. Do you really have a heart, Snow?
"Surely both, for he sweeps the doctors aside, leaps to his feets and moves towards me. I run to meet him, my arms extended to embrace him. His hands are reaching for mine too, to caress my face, I think.
My lips are forming his name when his fingers lock around my throat.”
Now he will never be the same again.
I kinda like the ending. Not like, I love it. I even wanted to type the whole epilogue in this post but I know it will spoil the ending for some who read this post but haven't read the book. My suggestion: Go to bookstore, grab the books, and start reading. NOW. You won't regret it.

After all, this series gave me so much to think -- about our loved ones, about our life, and courage. What if someday, suddenly, you're left with nothing? Your family's gone, your friends, your life.. Boom. Gone. Then someone try to control you. to break you, to make sure you'll lost everything. What will you do? Surrender? Or fight back? What will you do --- What will I do? I can't even imagine it.

Five Stars for this series! Now I have to add Suzanne Collins to my favorite author list. Thankyou for The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. You're soooo amazing!
My favorite line from Mockingjay:
“Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!”
Thanks for reading. Hugs!

Greetings!

Finally, after a long thoughts and time, I made myself a blog.
Seems like my self-fussy-words can't hold it anymore. HahahaOr maybe because I haven't been done so much lately in this holiday, just wandering around home like a lost duck. But, whatever. ._____. Anyway, thanks for welcoming me to blogger! :D Sorry for the bad layout and so, I still find myself confuse about what to do next with my blog. *Still learning.

Lately I've been reading The Hunger Games Series to fill my hollowliday. Yes, yes, i'm a book-lover. Even a thousand of them can't get rid of my curiousness for reading another one. Now call me a bookworm.
I've read the first book from the series, The Hunger Games, months ago before the film even out in movies, but I can't find some time to read the second and the third book, Catching Fire and Mockingjay. Been so busy lately with my college assignments. *sigh.*  But now I finally have any time I want to read them! Aww yeaaaah.

I'll make sure I finish them both before I make another post for you. Sorry for the bad grammar, by the way.

Ciao and have a good weekend, everyone! ;)
