Happy Birthday, hubby ♥

Yes, yess! I told you before on my previous post, this month is my hubby's 19th birthday! :$
His birthday is on the same day with the independence day of my country, Indonesia. It's on August 17th :)
That photo above is a few things I gave to him for his birthday. No, I won't tell you what's inside the gift box :p Just guess! ;)

Before the H day.
So, first, the cupcakes. I planned to make a MADE BY ME cupcakes for his birthday cake, because I want to make it special. This crazy idea came out to me about, hmm, maybe one month before his birthday? I don't really remember. Why is it crazy, you say? Because I never made a cupcake before .______. My grandma is a pro for making cakes and cookies, but I rarely help her make those. So after the idea popped, I grabbed a piece of paper and started to think what kind of cupcakes will I give to him. Well, since my hubby loves oreos, I want to make him cupcakes with oreo toppings. And the result is set, I'll make a Oreo Cheesecake cupcakes :D Because I loove cheesecakes :p hahaha. No no, a year ago, on my birthday, he and my friends gave me an Oreo Cheesecake cake, and he loves it. That's why I think he'll love this one, too
I surfed the internet for the recipe. At that time I was really-really not sure if I can make those cupcakes or not, but I keep noted every ingredients and steps to make the cupcakes. Since I've never made a cupcake before, I planned to practice first. Aaaaand there goes the problem again: I don't have an oven! By 'oven' I means electric oven. At home there's only my grandma's old oven that she usually used to make cakes, it looks like a big box and you have to put it on a stove to heat them. So, yeah. You know how I feels, right?
But after a few thoughts, I didn't think it will stop me. The oven may be old, but it still working anyway. It's like it was screaming to me, Give me a chance! Thank God it's still on my holiday time, so one day I went and bought all the ingredients with my grandma, and made it at home. He didn't know it, of course :p
Well.. I think it was quite succeeded. Hahaha. It tasted like cheesecake, and smelled like cheesecake, so.. I guess I've made it! And I thought, If I can made it now, I can make it for his birthday, too. And there they are! Tadaaaa. Looking very yummy and delicious :9
And the little blue box with a ribbon on it? It's his birthday present :p Oh, and the squared box with a tie thingy on it is his birthday card ;)

On the H day.
I woke up at 8.30am, because I slept very late, about 2am in the morning :\ I stayed out all night to make the birthday card. Hahaha how romantic I am. He already fell asleep before 00.00am, so I just texted him my 'Happy Birthday'. Sleepyhead. Haha. After woke up, I took a bath and started immediately to make the cupcakes. It took me about 2 hours to finish it. Then I store them in my refrigerator.
At first I planned some surprise with his friend, but it didn't work. He end up came to my house, we went to his friend's house *with a little pursuasion, of course* and they gave him a cake. After then he dropped me back to my house, because I had to go to church.
After church, I went back to home and he picked me to dinner with his family. I gave him the cupcakes, and the gifts. He looked a little bit surprise :p Maybe he didn't even think I will made the birthday cake by myself. Got you♥ We went to Moi, a chinese food restaurant on Manyar. We joined his family there, and started the dinner.
Everything went quite well!

Katniss Everdeen, The girl who was on fire.

Finallyyyy I made this post. Sorry because it's so. very. late. My internet is like asdgfjflsjdfufhg .. Everytime I want to use it suddenly it becomes so sensitive.. Nevermind now. Here it is! Tadadaaa!
"Sparks are igniting. Flames are spreading. And The Capitol wants revenge. "
“Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire, you have provided a spark that, left unattended, may grow to an inferno that destroys Panem,"

Catching Fire, the second book from The Hunger Games Saga. First thought before reading this book, I thought it woudn't be very surprising, because Katniss and Peeta have already finished their Hunger Games in book 1, and they won. And I started to think, "What's left then for them?" I keep thinking of random plots and stories, but I couldn't find one that suitable enough.

And as I keep reading and reading.. It's brilliant! Very thrilling, and surprising. Thumbs up for Suzanne Collins! The way how she plotted the whole stories, it was so amazing. And there are like, tons of surprises inside this book. The most shocking part of all, The Quarter Quell.
"When the laws from the Hunger Games were laid out, they dictated that every twenty-five years the anniversary would be marked by a Quarter Quell. It would call for a glorified version of the Games to make fresh the memory of those killed by the districts' rebellion."
"On the seventy-fifth anniversary, as a reminder to the rebels that even the strongest among them cannot overcome the power of the Capitol, the male and female tributes will be reaped from their existing pool of victors."
When I realized katniss will be going back to the arena, I was like, "What? It can't -- No you can't do that SNOW! How could you do that.." And as the story goes on, it's unbelievably shocking. The Games, the characters, even things between Peeta and Katniss. You better grab this book and start to read it! Anyway, I found this poster when I was googling, and I looove it. Take a look!

Can't wait to watch the sequel, they said it would be released on November 22nd, 2013. I hope it will be as brilliant as the book :)

“The bird, the pin, the song, the berries, the watch, the cracker, the dress that burst into flames. I am the mockingjay. The one that survived despite the Capitol's plans. The symbol of the rebellion.”

Katniss was saved from the Games. The rebels saved her from the arena, along with the other few victors, but not all. The Capitol has Peeta. And they destroyed District 12. The other districts are fighting in a rebellion againts The Capitol. Now what will she do?
“Sometimes when I'm alone, I take the pearl from where it lives in my pocket and try to remember the boy with the bread, the strong arms that warded off nightmares on the train, the kisses in the arena.”

Finally the last book from the series, Mockingjay. I have to make a confession, this is my favorite book from all the series. It brings a whole different atmosphere from the first and second book. It's more dark, but always shocking, and a little bit terrifying, I think. It's like, it's bringing you right into the storyAnd the book was so adventurous, so intense. I couldn't stop reading it. When I knew about what they The Capitol has done to Peeta.. I was so sad and mad at the same time. Do you really have a heart, Snow?
"Surely both, for he sweeps the doctors aside, leaps to his feets and moves towards me. I run to meet him, my arms extended to embrace him. His hands are reaching for mine too, to caress my face, I think.
My lips are forming his name when his fingers lock around my throat.”
Now he will never be the same again.
I kinda like the ending. Not like, I love it. I even wanted to type the whole epilogue in this post but I know it will spoil the ending for some who read this post but haven't read the book. My suggestion: Go to bookstore, grab the books, and start reading. NOW. You won't regret it.

After all, this series gave me so much to think -- about our loved ones, about our life, and courage. What if someday, suddenly, you're left with nothing? Your family's gone, your friends, your life.. Boom. Gone. Then someone try to control you. to break you, to make sure you'll lost everything. What will you do? Surrender? Or fight back? What will you do --- What will I do? I can't even imagine it.

Five Stars for this series! Now I have to add Suzanne Collins to my favorite author list. Thankyou for The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. You're soooo amazing!
My favorite line from Mockingjay:
“Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!”
Thanks for reading. Hugs!
